M2 Open Hopper Progressive Cavity Pump


An M2 open hopper progressive cavity pump, which has a much larger hopper than other pumps, has the ability to better pump large grained mediums, and is thus suitable for the conveyance of thick mediums with a maximum of 30% solid content. The coupling shaft of the M2 CLASS progressive cavity pump has a helical blade that prevents any medium from blocking the inlet, which in turn has tremendously improved the ratio of the medium entering into the stator and rotor. This progressive cavity pump is often used in the following areas:

Starch industry: theconveyance of starch slurry, potato dregs, potato pulp, wheat gluten, paste and other starch materials
Environmental protection industry: the conveyance of sanitary sewage, industrial wastewater, diluted sludge, activated sludge, dewatered sludge, thicker materials, additives

Working principle of the progressive cavity pump

A progressive cavity pump is a displacement pump that, with an interference fit of the rotor in an eccentric motion and a fixed stator, will form a seal cage within the pump, moving material from the inlet to the outlet, thus completing the conveyance of the medium within the seal cage.

The rotor

The rotor shape can be designed as per customer requirements. For a metal rotor, after surface hardening or a vacuum heat treatment, the hardness can reach up to HRC65-67.

The stator

Materials: NBR, NBRH, HNBR, EPDM and FKM- all of which meet various working conditions

Universal joint

Alternative universal joints include a ball-and trunion joint, flexible universal joint, double offset universal joint, lardan universal joint and other joints.

Shaft seal

The packing seal and mechanical seal can be selected based on working conditions. The cooling system and flushing system can also be selected for the best possible way to prolong the shaft service life.
